Blue Cloud

There was once a cloud high in the sky. He was big and strong. His duties were to drink water and to rain. He formed a great group together with other clouds. He was very important.

 

One day, after he had rained, he decided to leave his place and travel on an unknown road. He felt strong and secure. He explored new things and felt strong and free as he walked along on the new road. Days and nights passed as the cloud wandered farther and farther from his place.

 

After a few days, he came to a place that he didn’t know. It was a very strange place for him. Everything around him was dry and without life. Blue Cloud hadn’t drank water for few days and his size was different. He was getting smaller, which was not good for him. The season changed. Suddenly, it was very hot.

 

The sun spotted the cloud and talked to him. “Blue Cloud, what are you doing here?” said sun. “This is not the place for you. It is very hot here and there is no water for you to drink.” Blue Cloud did not think the sun’s advice was important, but he remembered later what the sun had said.

 

As the days went by, the cloud got smaller and smaller. He did not find any water for many days and he grew weaker each day. Water was his source of life and without it he could not exist and do his duty—rain. One evening, the cloud noticed that the temperature of the air started to change. The nights were colder and the days were hotter. Even his last strength was gone.

 

A new day began. It was just like the day before. It was a hard day for Blue Cloud. The temperature was high and the air was filled with sand. He wanted to hide somewhere because he knew that if he got filled with sand, it would be very bad for him. But he just did not have the strength to escape. He began to be torn by the wind, the sand was getting deeper into his centre, and the hot air was making him weaker still.

 

He did not think that he would make it through. He wanted to drink water desperately, but the water was not there. He remembered that he had chosen an unknown road and wanted go back. But he couldn't. He repented that he did not listen to his friends’ advice who all just wanted the best for him.

 

Difficult times were not yet over for Blue Cloud. Every morning he hoped that the new day would be different. He was very small and weak. He wanted a change. The wind was getting stronger and the cloud was being torn by the wind more and more. The wind was so strong that the cloud did not know where he was or where he was going. He thought that this was the end for him.

 

The wind took him very far from that dry and hot place to the place which was full of water day and night. Everything there was alive and there was plenty of water all around him. Immediately, Blue Cloud drank water and began to be stronger. He knew that this was the place where he was supposed to be. He realized that he never had to leave.

 

When he regained his size, he joined the other clouds and together they rained. From that time on, Blue Cloud was very happy and stronger than ever before. He was in the right place.
