Can I believe in God without believing in Jesus Christ?

Unfortunately no. Without Jesus Christ there would be no savior and without a savior there would be no salvation. Thanks to Him who took upon Himself our sins and the sins of the whole world, through Him we have access to the eternal God and the salvation of our souls.
What did Jesus Christ do?

He died on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead to open the way to eternal life. He himself opened the way and had it preached all over the Earth, so that those who believe and are baptized will be saved.
