Self evaluation of your salvation, character and spirituality

Believe, Trust and Faith are essential for personal development. Without these three, it is very difficult to build a solid foundation. Let's look at some Bible verses.

Believe

Mark 16:16  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Trust

Matthew 12:21  And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

Faith

Luke 17:5-6  And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

As we are in the process of building our salvation, character, and spirituality, it seems good to evaluate where an individual is at. Before we start with your self-evaluation, I want you to take a pen and paper. Draw 3 blank columns (same as the picture) and divide them into 3 rows. Write all the headings as there are in the picture.

A person looks at a chart with columns labeled Salvation, Character, and Spirituality. Colors: green, orange, red. Text: Well done, Needs to improve, At the start.

Your goal is to place a marker on how you feel about your salvation, character and spirituality. Are you at the start, needs to improve, well done or in between? You may achieve well done scores, but you may be at the start in some areas. Write down the date of the self-evaluation.

Here is what is required to achieve well done score for each category.

Salvation

  • Did I repent? - Sincere and honest acknowledgement of past mistakes (sins) and turning away from them.

  • Was I baptise in the name of Jesus? - To be baptized in the name of Jesus by immersion in water for the remission of sins.

  • Did I receive the Holy Spirit? - To be filled with God's supernatural presence (the Holy Spirit).

  • Do I remain in repentance and holiness? - Continue to develop Christians character.

Character

  • Attitudes/ Behaviour - Do my attitudes/behaviour correspond to God's word?

  • Personality/ Charisma - Is my personality/charisma pleasing to people and God?

  • Actions/ Doings - Are my actions/doings done with the right motive and according to God's word?

Spirituality

  • Full salvation - Do I have full salvation?

  • Active prayer life - Do I pray regularly?

  • Full of the Holy Spirit - Am I filled and led by Holy Spirit. Am I sensitive to God's voice?

  • Unlimited potential - Have I unlocked and used God's gifts? Do I understand my potential?

If you answer yes to every bullet point from every category, then your score is "well done".

If you answer no to some bullet point, then your score is in "needs to improve" category.

If you answer no to any point, you are "at the start" category. You can also be between categories.

This self-assessment will tell you where you should focus and what needs your attention.

It is good to take the opportunity to do something for your personal development, and with God's help you will.
