Take prayer to a higher level.

Prayer or praying is a vital part of our relationship with God. God wants us to pray. One of our main goals of our life should be to learn how to pray, make a time to pray and to pray.

A person praying to God.

Luke 11:1 tells us that one of the apostles asked Jesus: "Lord, teach us to pray." In the book Acts 3:1 Peter and John went up into the temple to pray at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. Please think about the scripture from Luke 19:46: "My house is the house of prayer."

3 Basic prayer categories

Prayer can be divided into 3 basic categories.

  1. Individual prayer - This is a planned prayer in suitable place and time. Your mind must be focused on prayer with as few distractions as possible.

  2. Prayer in the collective - It is an individual prayer among other people in suitable place and time.

  3. Collective prayer (short or specific) - it is praying with other people for a specific purpose.

Content of the prayer

Your prayer should consist of:

  • Thanksgiving

  • Giving glory to God

  • Singing

  • Asking for forgiveness

  • Giving forgiveness

  • Praying for our needs

  • Praying for the needs of others

  • Intercession/petition for the souls

  • Praying in the Holy Ghost

  • At the end singing, giving glory to God and thanksgiving can be repeated.

The more time you spend praying, the more sensitive you will become to the Holy Ghost. Please remember, once you learn to pray, then continue to pray throughout your life.
