An introduction to the believer's salvation, character and spirituality.

As you read your Bible and try to get as much information from it as possible, you should know who these spoken words are for and what their message is. For example, in the Gospels, Jesus speaks to his disciples and to the people who come to him. In the book of Acts, the disciples speak about Jesus and do what they were commanded. Later, when churches (congregations of believers) were established, the apostles had to send them letters or come to them to teach.

Every single word, letter, or personal visit is directed to Jesus. It is all about Him, it was all about Him, and it will be all about Him. Take my word for it, everything we do is to bring Him glory. So you may ask, what must we do?

Let me say this before we go into a deeper study that these 3 categories are the foundation of every believer in Jesus Christ. Each of the themes you will find in the life of Jesus. The Bible does not categorize the life of Jesus, but records it as it happened. The categories were created for us to better understand what we need to do.

As you deepen your study and walk with God, I want you to think about 3 categories: Salvation - Character - Spirituality.

Every category is important. Jesus came to give us salvation, to tell us the words of life, and to let us into the spiritual realm. I will give just a few examples:

Salvation

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

Character

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

Spirituality

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (Mark 16:17)

So when you read the Bible, think about the words and what category they fall into. With God's help, we will be able to talk about salvation, develop our Christian character, and be spiritually active and useful.
