Can we give it up for eternal life? Did you know that master passion can rule us?

A man with a heavy load tries to follow Jesus

People like passion. There is nothing wrong with having something you like. But what is the danger? The danger is when our passion becomes our master passion and then becomes a god to us. Master passion is something higher than anything else.

Don't spend your energy, time, effort, and skills focusing on your master passion instead of focusing on God's Kingdom.

There was a man whom Jesus loved (Mark 10:17-23). He was moral, love God, had honour and respect for God and obeyed God's commandments. However, he couldn't give up his master passion - wealth.

He was found with only one spot, with something that prevents him from entering the kingdom of God.

"Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me." Mark 10:21

Do you have a master passion?

  • I don't have.

  • I am not sure.

  • I am aware of my master passion.

Let us not find ourselves with one spot that will hinder our entrance into eternal life. We must be set on fire for God. Just as Jesus' master passion was to do God's will, let our master passion be to do God's will.

Matthew 6:21  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

You are responsible for what will rule you.

Colossians 3:1-2

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."
