Really big deal

The greatest event in the history of mankind was when Almighty God manifested himself in flesh, lived among men, was crucified and rose again the third day. That was, as we may say it around here, a really, really big deal.
It's amazing how, after all Jesus done, people treat sin as if it's not big deal. Church going is just a Sunday thing and sin is just something you shouldn't do, but a little each day won't hurt. Where do folks get that idea?
Certainly not from the Bible! All that Jesus went through and we just shrug our shoulders, "No big deal." Some of this springs from a misunderstanding of why Jesus died on the cross and his reaction to it. When Jesus prayed in the garden so hard, his sweat became as great drops of blood. He wasn't agonizing over just the pain that he was about to face, for this was the man that willingly fasted for 40days!

He certainly wasn't repenting, for he never sinned. When he prayed "take away this cup from me", it was the horridness of taking our sins upon himself. The mere thought of bearing the vileness of the worlds sins, caused him to react in such manner and pray such a prayer.
But Jesus be thanked and praised, he did drink that cup that we so deserved! "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" 2 Corinthians 5:21
If sin was that big of a deal to Jesus that he would lay down his life, shouldn't we view it the same way? Sounds like a really big deal to me.
